PARANORMAL LOGAN – THE FIVE GHOSTS OF BEENLEIGH HERITAGE PARK & MUSEUM

Stories and experiences of the paranormal have been recounted surrounding the Beenleigh Historical Village & Museum located at 205 Main Street Beenleigh.

nn

With twenty heritage buildings, including the old St. George Anglican Church, The Beenleigh Council Chambers, Willkie’s General Store, and the Loganholme One Teacher School, filled with original items dating back to the 1860’s the place is filled with history.

n

Logan Local spoke with Clayton, one half of the Ghost Hunters Brisbane team and local paranormal investigator on the ghosts that are found at the heritage park.

nn

He has run four tours to the site, held fortnightly, since launching but has been doing investigations for three years now.

nn

Supernatural experiences are common, and this has been the case for decades across a number of groups and even from locals who visit the location.

nn

Sightings of the supernatural kind are the reason why ghost hunters are interested in the 160-year-old museum.

nn

Carroll House is known as being the most haunted building on the grounds with the bulk of activity occurring within its doors. In style of 1920’s art deco the house was built in the 1890s and owned by the Carroll family. Norma McGovern then lived in the house before donating it to the Beenleigh Historical Village in 1988, being re-located from James Street.

nn

A room known as a ‘Toy Room’ also has a strong presence with reports that in the 1800’s a past resident was brought home for a viewing after passing away in a nursing home, however this has been unable to be confirmed with name or date.

nn

Five spirits have been known to frequent the grounds and below are what has been learnt so far about the ghostly residents.

nn

‘Teddy’ Kitty

nn

A young girl believed to be the niece of an older male who is the dominant presence of the grounds. Playful and innocent she is the spirit who occupies Carroll House predominantly. She has asked Clayton to follow her into another room before during an encounter. Dripping water in a bathroom with no pipes and a bone-dry sink – research by the investigators piecing together that she may have met a watery demise at the hands of her uncle. On tours that followed the male presence was not interested in male tour members going into this room but only female members.

nn

MICHAEL

nn

Michael believed greatly to be the uncle of the little girl and to not be a nice man as witnessed during repeated tours. Speaks over the young girl, punches visitors and on one tour during a sensory deprivation tour a member of the group removed the headphones saying she was unable to repeat what she had been told of the act ‘Michael’ would like to do to her. The word was ‘rape’ – the group member was escorted from the house and not allowed to re-enter. On another tour a member with the headphones came out of the house after an encounter with ‘Michael’ swearing and telling other group members to die. He is the presence you do not want to encounter on the grounds.

nn

THE MUSICIAN

nn

He frequents the gardens and is believed to be a band member who perished in a tour bus crash years ago. He still searches for his band mates and is said to be harmless.

n

ENTRY AND EXIT CONDITION

nn

A self-playing piano with spectre.

nn

THE LADY ON THE PORCH

nn

The Lady on the porch has been seen sitting at the front of one of the buildings near the reception by a worker of the grounds who sees her every morning.

The Paranormal Tours can be booked on Facebook at BHV Paranormal Investigations.
