Springfield’s two big markets

WHEN you go shopping at Orion Shopping Centre in Springfield Central you should also consider attending the two big market days that feature each month near the centre.

On the first Sunday of every month the picturesque Robelle Parklands is the place to be with stall holders from throughout South East Queensland offering their wares.

Opening at 8am and going through to 1pm the market is located in stage one of the parkland, adjacent to the Orion Lagoon.

It’s a perfect place for a relaxing market set amongst 25 hectares of gorgeous parklands, with water play, walkways and bikeways.

The extra benefits are ample seating through the park, BBQs onsite and it’s also close to Springfield Central Train Station and is accessible by foot, scooter or bike.

Parking is not an issue, although it’s always advisable to arrive early.

The second market day runs down a closed off Main Street in the middle of Orion shopping centre on the third Sunday of every month.

Orion has a town square, public spaces and parks, along with a Dog Park – integrating with an exciting retail environment.

Visitors can shop, be entertained, do business and belong to a vibrant community.

Both market days are dog friendly, but owners must keep their dogs under control and on leads.
