Turf club’s function centre a winner

THERE is a dedicated local flavour to the Ipswich Turf Club Event’s and Entertainment Centre which opened just a few years ago.

Sales and Events co-ordinator, Carley Stieler, and head chef, Chris Johnston, lead the centre’s professional team and both were born and raised in Ipswich.

“This centre is a really a hidden gem and those who come along for the first time are always commenting to us about how good it is,” Carley said.

“Our bookings are increasing all the time as people start to realise that Ipswich finally has a first-class events and entertainment centre that can host up to 200 seated guests or as many as 500 for a cocktail function.”

The Ipswich Turf club realised that a modern entertainment centre was badly needed in the area and incorporated the project as part of its $25million upgrade of the Ipswich racing precinct in 2020.

Chef Chris, a former IGS student, has had more than 15 years’ restaurant and functions catering experience and previously worked at Customs House in the Brisbane CBD.

“Whether you are organising a birthday party, gala dinner or sports presentation, our Ipswich Centre is a perfect venue for your next special event and the close at hand parking makes it so convenient,” he said.

“The centre is unique for the district as it combines a blend of racecourse old charm, contemporary furnishings and modern facilities.

“Located only 30 minutes west of Brisbane, we have multiple refurbished and new function rooms ready to host your next celebration.”
